It's just that for some situations like photographing small birds for instance, more pixels would allow some cropping. Other than that it is by far the best camera I have ever had and it would take something extra special to extract some money from me.

Some nice images Ron, you should have a good chance of some sales just keep on sending them in, like Mohamad said you need the numbers a bit like the Lottery, the more numbers you have the better chance of winning

Nick if you are ever up here in my neck of the woods you are more than welcome to have a play with my D700 and take the card back with you to see what you think.

nick jenkins wrote:I am really hankering after one of these, being armed with Nikon and Nikon compatible sigma lenses. I currently have a D300 and am very pleased with it, my back up being a D2X. Apart from the obvious (full frame camera) can anyone who currently shoots on the D700 advise me on the pros and cons? "If I were a rich man...............dooby, dooby, dooby, dooby do" I would buy one now, but need to be a bit circumspect. Do I need concern myself that the Canon 5D Mk11 is 21Mp whereas the D700 is 12.1? Help! nickj
I use the D700 Nick, the main reason for getting it was the high ISO capability's because i shoot a lot of weddings, i can shoot in church with no flash (quite a few churches won't allow flash) and still get good quality prints, it also comes in useful for sports, i photographed the first evening meeting at Sedgefield back in April and had to get the horses jumping the last fence, and the owners in the winners enclosure, again you could not use flash for obvious reasons, the last race was 8pm and it was all about dark. (like someone already said i would recommend the grip for sports) The only thing i miss from my D200 is the extra zoom from my 80-200 2.8 ED lens. The pixel count is not a issue for me, i print upto A3 max for wedding albums, and i sell a few large landscape images at A2, 21mp's would be nice for larger prints though :-)

If anyone who purchased a digital SLR used it on Manual mode for the first few weeks they would learn much more than using auto modes.
