This already happens in my "local" newspapers here in the UK - only a few years back all photos were assigned to local photogs for a fee - now not only do they print less images, but many of those images are supplied free by proud parents, local business people and local sports teams etc etc. Some of these images do look rather amateurish but others look more than fit for the purpose of illustrating local news in a local rag.


Many "normal" ( ie non photogs ) people can take reasonable images with a camera and are happy to supply such images.


PR companies have been doing it for years!

Have not in the past, had online uploading problems, but having since upgraded to Mac 10.5.8 via Safari I'm unable to get the 'yellow upload box' on part 2 of the process. I have the latest Java in place. Contacted Alamy Technical yesterday but it doesnt look like i'll be hearing from them this side of the weekend! So thanks in anticipation of any thoughts or suggestions. Mark.
