Stephen, when you posted about this last time we made a statement, perhaps you missed it.
The thread is here: http://www.alamy.com/forums/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=6568
Our statement was:
Quote:As we have mentioned a few times on this subject, due to the nature of the way our Czech distributor reports sales, the size used figure will often be listed as spot but the actual usage may be larger.
What you can be confident on is the price. The price will reflect the size used and typical going rate for that territory, and we do see larger sales as well as smaller ones. Please also be aware that flat rates are also very common in this territory.
We are going to lock this thread now, not because of the subject topic, but because yet again within a few posts it has descended into something off topic and the bickering is already creeping in. Can you please stick to the forum rules and keep posts professional and fact based.
James A
Regards,
James A
Edit - aspiers just beat us to it.

DPI values are irrelevant at the point of submission.
When we talk about resolution for submission, we are talking about the uncompressed file size which must be at least 48MB. Making your longest side at least 5150 pixels in proportion with the shortest will cover you.

Hi
Please accept our apologies for today's problems.
We've been looking into some possible causes at this end. We've taken the Upload application offline and we may have to do so again.
Many thanks for your patience.

The image that caused the failure failed for a number of reasons in addition to "over manipulated" but I will not list them here. You can view them via "track submissions".
This thread has run it's course. If you'd like a 100% screen grab of an area of the image that demonstrates the failure reasons then please email me via the memberservices@alamy.com email address and I'll be happy to provide you with one.
Regards,
James A

Again, we've not "raised the bar". We are looking at more images than we have done in the past, but that is all. We've stated this many times.
It would be a complete waste of time for us to raise standards and not inform contributors. Any other threads suggesting the contrary will simply be locked or deleted.

Pointless posts of this nature simply waste everyone's time.
Please stick to the forum rules.

If we can keep the conversation and discussion on photographic policies rather than weapons of mass destruction/war/general politics we will allow this thread to continue.
Fair warning!

Hi All.
The "how do you delete an image thread" was removed in error so please accept our apologies.
In order to delete an image simply go to Manage Images v2.2, drag any images that need to be deleted to the batch window then click "Delete all in batch".
As per the contract, images will be deleted after 180 days, with them being searchable for the first 90 of those days only. We do this in order to keep the collection stable for clients.
Many thanks
