How do I set up a credit account with Alamy?
In order to apply for an account you will need to have registered with Alamy. The application form is online via ‘My Alamy’. All Credit Account applications are reviewed by our credit control team and set up at the discretion of Alamy. It generally takes 24 hours to review an application.
What do I receive after my order has been processed?
The person ordering the image (picture buyer) will receive an order confirmation that the sale has been processed. The account contact will receive the invoice via email. If you require each individual picture buyer to receive the invoice relating to their sale then please contact our credit control department by email at creditcontrol@alamy.com.
Is the invoice a valid document?
Yes it is. Invoices do not need to be sent by post to be a valid document. "H.M. Customs & Excise" confirm that emailed invoices with all of the normally required information are perfectly valid and meet legal requirements for issue of an invoice. Alamy comply with VAT notice 700/63 in regards to electronic invoicing.
How do I view Alamy's invoices?
To view and print invoices from Alamy which are in PDF (Portable Document Format), you may need to install Adobe Acrobat Reader. To download a free copy, please visit the Adobe website.
Can I see my invoice online?
You can visit the Orders and downloads page of My Alamy and view each order and the invoice relating to it. You will need to log in as the picture buyer to see the specific orders made by that individual, we do not currently have the facility to view all the purchases made on one account online.
How can I print my invoice?
Log on and click the My Alamy link at the top of the page. Select the Orders and downloads option from the menu. You can print an invoice of any of your previous orders from here at anytime.
I need a hard copy invoice to process the sale
Simply print out the PDF invoice and keep this as your hard copy record.
The invoice must arrive by post
Please contact us at creditcontrol@alamy.com to let us know why this is the case. We have found no legal reason why invoices cannot be accepted by email but will endeavour to answer any queries you may have and find a realistic solution if one is required.
How do I pay Alamy's invoices?
We prefer to receive payment by one of the following methods:
- BACS
- CHAPS
- International transfers
- ACH Transfers
Alternatively you can pay by cheque to either our UK or US office depending on your location. If you choose to pay an invoice by credit card you will incur a 5% commission fee.
How do I cancel an invoice?
If you have not used the image/s:
- You may cancel the Licence within ten (10) days from the date of the Invoice without charge.
- If you cancel less than thirty (30) days after the Invoice date, a cancellation fee of fifty (50%) percent of the Invoice will be charged.
- After thirty (30) days, no cancellations will be accepted and the full amount of the invoice must be paid.
- Images purchased through the Limited Use scheme are non-refundable.
How do I know the site is secure for money transactions?

Cancelling the Licence revokes any right to publish, reproduce or use the Image(s) in any manner whatsoever.
