More information:

Three people and a small dog clung to this tree for four hours as Hurricane Katrina roared ashore. The massive oak stood against Katrina saving all four lives but later succumbed to effects from the hurricane's salt water surge. Carved by chainsaw artist Dayle Lewis, the angel in front is depicted with white eyes, blinded by the horror she has seen.
