Duart Castle stands on the Isle of Mull in NW Scotland, and overlooks the inshore seaway known as the Sound of Mull. It has been the symbol of power to the MacLean clan for over 400 years. In 1691, it was ruined by the Campbell clan. In 1911, it was purchased and restored by Sir Roy Maclean. It is still owned by the MacLeans of Duart and Morvern.
