He was born on 28th March 1899 at Upton-On-Severn, Worcestershire. Died on 6th February 1976. He later went to be made a Captain and then a Brigadier Major in the KSLI. During World War II his aircraft was shot down and he was a Prisoner Of War until the end of the war. Photograph was taken at the famous London studios of Alexander Bassano. Original WW2 era postcard of pretty woman serving in the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) wearing her service dress, dated May 1945, Port St Mary, Isle of Man. Possibly she is from the Special Operators Training Battalion based here from 1943 to train ATS women as intercept wireless operators for Bletchley Park amongst others. Young lady's of the ATS did: three weeks' basic training at Queens Camp, Guilford. then posted to Douglas, Isle of Man, for four months to train as a Special Wireless Operator, Royal Corps of Signals. RM2M86DMT–Original WW2 era postcard of pretty woman serving in the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) wearing her service dress, dated May 1945, Port St Mary, Isle of Man. Possibly she is from the Special Operators Training Battalion based here from 1943 to train ATS women as intercept wireless operators for Bletchley Park amongst others. Young lady's of the ATS did: three weeks' basic training at Queens Camp, Guilford. then posted to Douglas, Isle of Man, for four months to train as a Special Wireless Operator, Royal Corps of Signals.
