What’s the difference between an Individual and Team?

An Individual license is for a single user, allowing them to use images in various projects but not share or transfer the license. A Team license provides more flexibility for multiple users, enabling them to share images and assets while collaborating on a project.

I’m an individual user, and I can’t find the license I need. What should I do?

If you’re an individual but your usage exceeds the limitations of an individual license (such as print runs or publishing over 5,000 copies), you’ll need to opt for a team license that meets your usage requirements, even if you're acting as a single user.

Are there any restrictions on how I can use the images and videos I license from Alamy?

Yes, there are usage restrictions outlined in the license terms. It's crucial to review these restrictions, as they specify what you can and cannot do with the content you license. This ensures you have a clear understanding of how to use our imagery within the bounds of your chosen license.

There are also restrictions on images that are available for Editorial use only. Editorial content shouldn’t be used for commercial use such as advertising or promotional campaigns, commercial projects, office wall decorations or product packaging. This list is not exhaustive. See our explanation about editorial and commercial use here.

Editorial content has no model or property releases on file, so to use it for commercial purposes, you’ll need additional clearances from either the people or the owners of the property featured in the visuals. See our explanation on release here.

How do I purchase advertising?

If you are working for a company the Team Commercial Enhanced license is available for online advertising, for example advertising placements on a website. If you are acting as an individual user and are pushing or promoting a social media post, this is covered under our Individual License - digital marketing.

For all other advertising licences, please contact us for a quote customersupport@alamy.com

How do I license a video?

We have over 20 million videos in our stock video library. For more information on licensing from our video collection, please visit our Video License Information Page.

Are there any limitations to my usage?

Yes, there are certain limitations outlined above in the license comparison section mentioned above (compare team licenses). For example, under an Individual License, you can use the content in self-published books with a print run of up to 5,000 copies. If you plan to exceed this number, you will need to upgrade to the Team Editorial Enhanced License.

If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don't hesitate to contact our customer support team.
