The flood sensor uses ultrasound to measure the distance of the surface it is pointed at. Solar powered, with a LoRaWAN antenna for reporting data to a community FloodNet website, the devices are a collaborative effort by NYU FloodSense project and CUNY Advanced Science Research Center.
