In February 1931, for the first time a "baby" car achieved the speed of over 100mph. The MG Midget exceeded 103mph for 5km winning the international double 12 hour race, the International Irish Grand Prix and the International Ulster TT in that year created a record unparalleled in the annals of motor racing.
