(dpa) - A sign which is labled with the symbole for nuclear hazard hangs attached to a chain which spanns across the storage room and reads 'Control Zone Caution Radiation' at the underground storage facility for nuclear waste in Gorleben, Germany 26 September 2003. In the background stand deposited containers with radioactive waste. The owner of the storage facility and the police decided to wait and see after members of Greenpeace occupied a 40 metre tall winding tower on the premises of the decommissioned salt mine on 29 october 2003. Protesters managed to climb across the concrete fence of the premises at dawn and occupy the tower. The controversial designated Castor container, which containes radioactive waste from the French nuclear recycling plant in La Hague, will not be deposited at Gorleben but temporarily at a neighbouring aboveground storage facility.
