Elsewhere, regional airports such as Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Southampton and Luton might be expanded. 04/11/02 : Airports operator BAA said that it saw passenger numbers nudge up over the last six months, but it remained hard to predict the pace of recovery amid the uncertain conditions. Increased demand for discount flights helped fuel the growth in traffic, which rose 1% to 70.3 million passengers in the six months to September 30 against the same period the previous year. Revenues rose 1.1% to 1.02 billion.
