London, the Crown Jewels are kept locked up in the Tower of London. .The Imperial State Crown. (made for Queen Victoria in 1838 and remade for GeorgeVI in 1937). The Imperial State Crown is worn on the return from the abbey after the coronation and for certain state occasions. In1671 an attempt was made to steal the Crown Jewels by Colonel Blood was thwarted, they were taken from the Martin Tower to the Wakefield Tower, in 1967 the Crown Jewels were moved to an enormous underground vault in front of the Waterloo Barracks.
