Amazon Jungle, Huim, Ecuador, near to MacasMore information:
This is a young Shuar indian girl in the Amazon Jungle in Ecuador. The closest town would be Macas. She lives with her parents and many brothers and sisters in the dirt floor huts in the background. There is no electricity and local people live off of their land. The Shuar indian tribe has a history of being fierce warriors and battling other jungle tribes. They are known for cutting off the heads of their victims. I was able to get deep into the jungle as I met a young woman from the tribe who acted as my guide. Otherwise, I had been warned by a wilderness guide that some tourists had been found decapitated after venturing into the jungle alone.
