Two cars caught when the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge collapsed after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. The Loma Prieta earthquake was the largest in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1906. The earthquake at 17:04 Pacific Time on October 17th 1989 killed 62 people, injured more than 3, 500 and caused more than 6 billion dollars of damage to structures in San Francisco, Oakland and Northern California.
