Yellow whiteside West-of-England tumbler fancy pigeon. 2012 champion, Faircount Pigeon Show, Ansonia, Connecticut. Tumblers are bred to roll over backwards in flight. All fancy pigeons have been bred from a single species of wild rock dove (Columba livia). Charles Darwin, impressed by the tremendous variety of pigeons bred through artificial selection, kept and studied fancy pigeons and used them in making his case for evolution through natural selection.
