Solomon is described as undertaking the construction of the temple, with the help of an architect, also named Hiram, and other materials, sent from King Hiram of Tyre.

The Israelites had entered the Promised Land and heir first battle was against the gateway city of Jericho using an unusual tactic. Priests were to carry the ark of the covenant, and seven priests, bearing seven trumpets of ram’s horns, blown continually. They circled the city once each day for six days and on the seventh day, march around the city seven times. After the seventh circuit, the priests were to make one long blast on the trumpets at which point the people shouted loudly and the wall fell down flat.
