RF2D6AHWN–Moses and Burning Bush from drawing by Raphael (1483-1520) and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. The burning bush is an object described by the Book of Exodus as being located on Mount Horeb. According to the narrative, the bush was on fire, but was not consumed by the flames, hence the name. In the biblical narrative, the burning bush is the location at which Moses was appointed by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and into Canaan.
RF2BTAMNP–Amenhotep II (also spelled Amenephthes and Amenophis) is thought to be the Egyptian pharaoh at the time of the Exodus, the name given to the Biblical event that describes the departures of the Israelites from Egypt. Amenhotep II was the seventh pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty, during the time period now referred to as the New Kingdom. He ruled around 1410 B.C. This wall painting was uncovered in Thebes in Egypt and was copied by the French Orientalist Emile Prisse.
