It is from Kidnapped, a historical fiction adventure novel by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, written as a boys' novel and first published in the magazine Young Folks from May to July 1886. The captain of the ship Covenant. Hoseason abducts the main character, David Balfour, onto his ship on the orders of David's uncle Ebenezer, and later tries to kill David and Alan Breck Stewart. He is shipwrecked after the Covenant founders on the Torran Rocks.
