The Johnstown Flood disaster, Pennsylvania, USA, 31 May, 1889. Known as the Great Flood of 1889, the disaster killed over 2200 people after the South Fork Dam failed, causing 20 million tons of water to destroy the town of Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
