This is in the Safat Commercial Centre in the Safat area of Kuwait City centre, a shopping arcade specialising in watches. All the shops and stores were looted by Iraqi soldiers before they fled north, towards Iraq. After Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait in August 1990, coalition forces were quick to send their armies to both defend Saudi Arabia and to successfully oust the Iraqi forces by the end of February 1991.
