1921 A cartoon - caricature of Edward Mandell House (1858-1938) American diplomat, politician, and an 'Executive Agent' who became a back-stage adviser to President Woodrow Wilson. His nickname was Colonel House. His business interests included a family cotton plantation, banking investments and the founding of the Trinity and Brazos Valley Railway.
