1950s, historical picture of two people, one a lady with her bicycle outside at a newspaper kiosk in central Paris, France. They first made an appearance in 1857, when Baron Haussmann was making renovations to the Parisian landscape. The kiosk is full of newspapers, the reason being that under French law, all the newspaper titles had to be carried, so all political opinion was on display. On the kiosk is advertsing for Nicolas, the long established parisian wine company.
