The history of BMW motorcycles and BMW motorcycle engines starts with the Airheads. What is this? Airhead engines are the old-style 2-valve air-cooled boxer engine made before 1992 when the last of them were made. They weren't called “Airheads” at the time by anyone because they were all BMW made!
