The school which closed in 2014, is to be replaced 134 social homes will be built on the site ahead of the wider development of the Mainway estate for which a planning application is expected later this year ahead. The Redevelopment work will involve the demolition of two eleven storey tower blocks Bridge and Skerton Houses and the 8-storey block Park House which were built in 1960 and refurbished in the 1990s, along with the replacement of the medium rise buildings on the estate. Tenants in Bridge House have already been contacted by the City Council and they have been told that the council are looking at re-housing them between April and September of this Year. Derby and Lune Houses which were originally to have been refurbished as part of the project are in the process of being sold to a developer. Demolition Skerton High School
