20 April 2020, Brandenburg, Potsdam: A red and white barrier is placed in front of the stairs below the vineyard terraces of Sanssouci Castle. Workers have begun the restoration of the central axis on behalf of the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg (SPSG). The treads between the terrace stairs are to be fortified with bound stones, thus preserving the historic sandstone steps. Up to now, the stairs have also been subject to heavy wear and tear due to gravel that has entered shoe treads. According to the foundation, the work is expected to be completed on 20 May 2020. P
