China's Macao Special Administrative Region has downgraded its typhoon signal from highest No.10 level to No.8 on Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. local time, but the low-lying areas near the coastline were flooded, as Typhoon Higos had made landfall in the neighboring city of Zhuhai in the morning. Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau had upgraded its typhoon signal to No.10 level on Wednesday at 5:00 a.m. local time, before downgrading it to No.8 later on. The red storm surge warning was also issued at 5:30 a.m. local time. (Xinhua/Cheong Kam Ka)
