26-year-old Captain Roy Farran, DSO, MC and two bars, Croix de Guerre, and American Legion of Merit, recently acquitted by a Jerusalem court martial of the murder of a young Jew, arrived at Liverpool yesterday in the troopship "Orduna". There was an armed guard him as he stepped ashore at the end of his secret air and sea journey to England from Palestine. He hopes soon to visit his home at Histons Hill, Codsall, Wolverhampton. 14 October 1947
