29 BOMBS AND A SWASTIKA - A Whiteley bomber with 29 raids over Germany to its credit has now a Swastika painted on its nose above the bombs, each of which indicates a successful raid. The 21 year old sergeant air gunner, a racing motorist before the war, was at the tail gun of the whitley over German when two Messerschmidts attacked them. He shot one down in flames - the other flew off. [The air gunner is Sergeant J.B. Currie - 77 Squadron - and his parents live at Binnoflay, Eire]. Photographic negative , Royal Air Force
