The Cabin Lake Guard Station is a group of six buildings built in the mid 1930s for housing of US Forest Service employees in charge of spotting remote fires. The site served as the district ranger station from 1921 1945. Despite being closed in 2002, the site is now on the national register of historic places & is popular for nearby bird watchers as there is a bird blind & guzzler near to a campground.
