More information:

Stand by Me is a 1986 film based on the Stephen King novel The Body, where four boys go out in search for the body of a missing boy near Castle Rock, Oregon.  The movie stars the actors Wil Wheaton, Corey Feldman, Jerry O'Connell & River Phoenix.  This location at Lake Britton, California marks where the four cross the railroad bridge when Wil Wheaton (Gordie Lachance) calls out "Train!", all of them barely escaping off the bridge when the train passes.  Today, 30 years later, the railroad bridge is still standing but is deteriorating and unstable.  Fortunately no trains were coming during the photographing of this, many of the boards themselves were dangerous to walk on, ready to break through w/ a significant plummet below walk out onto the bridge at your own risk.
