40-year-old Chinese man Zhao Deli dressed in protective suit takes his homemade "flying motorcycle" and flies into the air during a test flight in an open space in Tangxia town, Dongguan city, south China's Guangdong province, 23 July 2018. Chinese man Zhao Deli, who was dressed in all-black protective suit, took part in the 1, 564th test flight for his flying motorcycle in Tangxia town, Dongguan city, south China's Guangdong province, on July 23, 2018. With the eight propellers stirring the air and the motor roaring, his flying vehicle soared high into the air. Zhao Deli, 40, born in a village in Changde, Hunan, had a dream of flying into the air since his childhood and he was good at science and fond of mechanical and circuit systems when he was young. 20 years ago, Zhao came to Dongguan. With the development of unmanned aerial vehicles in 2008, he became a big fan, entering the drone industry and selling UAVs. He established a drone company and set up a R&D team in designing and manufacturing model aircrafts two years ago. However, his company closed down in 2016 due to bad management and fierce competition. Then he sold his house out and devoted himself into designing and developing small-sized manned aircrafts. After over one thousand test flights, Zhao finally finished the prototype for this flying vehicle within two years. Zhao introduced that the "flying motorcycle" can reach a speed of 70 kilometers per hour with a battery life of 30 minutes, a pay load of 50 to 100 kilograms, and a maximum takeoff weight of 256 kilograms, which make the "flying motorcycle" in the leading position currently on the market.
