A Chinese special policewoman patrols a street in Chengdu city, southwest Chinas Sichuan province, 23 November 2011. A female special police team started their duty of patrolling populous streets in downtown Chengdu, the provincial capital of southwest Chinas Sichuan. The team was composed of 30 policewomen equipped with combat boots, body armor, QSZ-92 pistols in their belts and QZB-95 assault rifles in their hands. Of the team, 12 were newly minted female officers. The women had all been recruited to the squad in January and had officially completed their 10-month boot camp. According to troop head of Chengdu Police Special Forces Peng Yong, all the women are university graduates around 24 years old. During training they run a daily 5K and practice hand-to-hand combat, tactics, climbing, and landing.
