A green painted Victorian Penfold pillar box with a VR monogram, for Victoria Regina, Queen Victoria. Pillar boxes were painted green until 1874 when the now familiar red was introduced. As can be seen from the inscription, the pillar box was produced by Cockrane Gove and Co, Iron founders and engineers in Dudley. Rochester, Kent, UK.
