A model of the paddle steamer "Washington" at the Museum of Oceanography at an exhibition to mark the 75th anniversary of the Norddeutschen Lloyd. In 1864 the paddle steamer "Washington" founded the first regular mail boat connection between the US and Europe. The "Washington" served the route New York-Bremerhaven.
