A South-German two-hand flamberge, circa 1600 Robust blade with wavy edges and lateral parrying hooks. Below the leather-covered ricasso on both sides the engraved inscription "ME FECIT - STAUT" (= Standler). Widely protruding, slightly curved wrought iron cross-guard with riveted coils, fleur-de-lys ornaments forged to both guard rings. Leather-covered, nail-studded wood grip with traces of original fringes. Slightly conical, octagonal pommel. Length 170.5 cm.
