A sukkah, a hut, from South Germany from the early 19th century. The hut was brought to Switzerland under difficult conditions in 1937. Today, it is located in Jerusalem and is one of the most valuable exhibits. On 14 October 1963, the President of the Bundestag Dr Gerstenmaier opened the exhibition "Monumenta Judaica - 2000 Jahre Geschichte und Kultur der Juden am Rhein" (translated as "Monumenta Judaica - 2000 years of Jewish history and culture on the Rhine") in the city museum of Cologne.
