Aerial view of the construction site of the Chengdu-Pujiang section for the Sichuan-Tibet Railway in Chengdu city, southwest China's Sichuan province, 30 January 2018. The construction of the Chengdu-Pujiang section for the Sichuan-Tibet Railway began as the first 500-meter-long rail was paved on the Chengdu West Grand Bridge on Tuesday (30 January 2018) morning. The Chengdu-Pujiang Railway will be completed by this May and is expected to put into operation by October. The Sichuan-Tibet Railway will be the second railway into southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region after the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. The line will go through the southeast of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, one of the world's most geologically active areas.
