An aerial view of the Knudsen Gap with Omoe Peak at right. In the foreground is a forest of Moluccan Albizia, Falcataria moluccana. It is a species of fast-growing tree in the legume family, Fabaceae, and is native to Maluku Islands, New Guinea Island, and the Solomon Islands. It is an introduced, invasive species in Kauai and attempts are being made to eradicate it. It is one of the fastest-growing trees in the world, able to grow over 1 inch per day.
