The armature of the peduncle of the uropods is more pronounced, having about 50 small, closely-packed spines in two rows along the inner edge. The single subadult male from the west coast differs from the adult males only in that the thoracic sideplates and uropodal armature are not fully developed, and the eye has 10 distinct lenses on the dorsal surface (Fig. 4C). Antenna 1 (Fig. 4D) is somewhat shorter in the male, and the flagellum is 1-segmented (Fig. 4E). Distribution Tropical West Africa (Fage 1924, 1950, 1951; Jones 1960-part); False Bay and south-west coast of South Africa (Jones 1960).
