They must, however, be very rare. Although the largestcysts extend to 25// or 30//, and even very rarely beyond this, yetthe curve shows clearly that cysts beyond 22ix are very infrequent.Ninety-seven per cent, of all the cysts in the curve are 22yu or belowin diameter. The curve for E. coli is like that for E. histolytica inbeing somewhat asymmetrical. While the mode is at i^/ft theaverage of the 1, 000 measurements is i73/«, i.e., it does not lie inthe modal group of measurements at all. The cu
