Orders to the retail value of 20,000,000 dollars for British built Fordson diesel tractors followed the recent visit to America of Sir Patrick Hennessy, Managing director of For of Dagenham. Even with the heavy freight charges involved in sending the tractors over thousands of miles by sea, rail and road, the tractors can still be offered to the American farmers at prices below those for a similar machine produced in the United States. The first 316 tractors were loaded aboard the S.S. Joseph Lyles at the Ford Wharf at Dagenham today
