Barbed wire entanglements in front of the trench used during the First World War in the Main de Massiges in Marne region in north-eastern France. The Main de Massiges was one of the major sites of the First World War from 1914 to 1918. The trench of German origin was conquered by the 23rd Colonial Infantry Regiment of the French Army on 25 September 1915 and was the first line of French defence from September to October 1915. Trenches and barbed wire entanglements in the area are restored by the Main de Massiges Association since 2009.
