Beating the gas strike. - J Lyons and Company's London engineers have been working through the night on emergency cooking arrangements to combat the gas shortage caused by the unofficial strike of 2000 maintenance engineers of the Gas Light and Coke Company. Every available method of heating is being used, including oil stoves, field kitchens and open fires.
