Beltane celebrations on May Day in Glastonbury. Beltane is the anglicised name for the Gaelic May Day festival and most commonly held on 1st May, or about halfway between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. The coming of the season of warmth and light is celebrated by druids and pagans and sees locals dressed in costume to follow a procession of dragons, Green Men and druids during the Celtic festival.
