Close up of mild pompholyx, a form of eczema, on the palm of the hand a 22 year old woman. This acute form of eczema causes itchy blisters to form over the palms and/or soles of the feet. The condition is also known as dyshidrotic eczema and often develops for no apparent reason. It is treated with an astringent which causes the skin to tighten and dry, or with corticosteroid drugs.
