Coloured three-dimensional Magnetic Resonance Angiogram (MRA) scan of the abdomen of a male patient aged 77, showing bilateral renal artery stenosis (narrowing). Two renal arteries branch from either side of the aorta artery (at top) to supply the kidneys with blood. Here, stenosis is seen at this junction. The most common cause is atheroma, fatty deposits on the inner walls of the arteries.
