The residents of Ostional village are allowed by the Costa Rican government to collect sea turtle eggs for sale. So many turtle come ashore that they dig up the nests of the previous turtles and destroy the eggs. The people are only allowed to collect a small percentage of the eggs. The eggs must be placed in this official bag.
