Crooked Feather, a 30-foot Indian sculpture, is displayed on Highway 90, April 2, 2023, in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The giant wooden carving was created by local artist Thomas King in 1999. The red cypress sculpture replaced one originally created by Hungarian sculptor Peter Toth in 1976. Toth created a series of Indian sculptures across the United States and Canada. Toth’s ongoing series, known as the Trail of the Whispering Giants, featured 74 pieces in 2009. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
