More information:

Although having some parts dating from 1380, the clock was reconstructed in 1923. Twice a day the three kings and their servants march out of a small side door to pay homage to the Virgin and Child in the centre. At either side the heralds sound their trumpets. The upper dial shows the paths of the sun and moon signs of the zodiac and the time. The lower dial is a calendar with details of days and dates from 1923 to 2023. The original Cathedral was consecrated in 1145 by Archbishop Eskil, but a fire destroyed the roof in 1234. The [replacement stone vaulting] was too heavy for the walls and restoration by Adam van Düren in the 16th century saw the addition of buttresses and sculpture. It continued to deteriorate until completely renovated in the 19th century by C G Brunius and Helgo Zetterwall in a Romanesque architectural style.
